Mina and Jana – Tattoo-Workshop: „Stick-n‘-Poke“
In the workshop, we will show you the basics of stick-and-poke- tattooing with simple needles without an electric machine. After a brief technical introduction to colors, needles, infection and hygiene, legal stuff, etc. you can watch the process live with us. Then there is the possibility to get started with our materials and our help. At the beginning, simple shapes such as dots, lines, light geometric figures, icons, etc. can be suitable. You can also bring your own motifs or develop them with pen and paper.
For pre-registration of tattoo- couples please write us at: presse@janaklein.net, so we can plan better. You should get along with partial nudity of the participants. We are inking in a quiet and private group room.
The workshop is run by Mina and Jana, who wear tattoos of various quality (…) on their bodies and started to ink without training.
In our workshop, especially due to the partial nakedness of the participants, we want a particularly prudent behavior of all participants. For us, tattoo sessions or „tattoo parties“, inking together, always mean creating a social space in which bodies can be bodies and should not be sexualized if there is not an appropriate negotiation between all people involved. In a workshop with so many strangers, such a negotiation is impossible.

Dan Khanh Duyen Tran – Presentation: „Intersectionality – focussing on chronic illness & dis_ability“
Presentation in English, translation into German possible
Intersectionality, a term coined by black feminist, Kimberle Crenshaw, focusses on the intersection between gender and race. Crenshaw readjusts the discourse on racism and sexism by focussing on the intersection in between. Her analysis is mostly concerned with the lived realities of black women. Besides race and gender there are several categories, which can be added to gain further understanding of how discrimination works. Categories such as class, sexuality and which will be the main topic of the lecture: chronic illness & disability. How do realities of racialized people look like when we pay closer attention to chronic illness and disability? How are the different forms of discrimination intertwined? The lecture is based on a personal experience & knowledge and seeks to facilitate an understanding of the political & social dimension of chronic illness and disability.

Thunfisch – Workshop: „Surviving in prison- and more? A workshop for everyone“
Workshop in German, translation into English possible
In 2016, alone in Germany, 50.858 people were imprisoned- and this is without counting the several thousands of prisoners in custody.
Well enough that we stop thinking „but not me / you!“. Prison can affect everyone, especially people who are politically active and / or have little money and / or are affected negatively by discrimination (especially racism and classicism, but not exclusively).
Nevertheless the topic „jail“ is tabooed and often intertwined with fears and/or shame. People often remain silent when it’s about the concrete everyday life and emotions being in prison, and people end up completely unprepared in jail. Thinking in advance about everyday life in prison can be essential and possibly help us to create an interesting, creative, productive and/or rebellious time in jail.
This workshop will be very critical, both against prisons and aswell against the societies, which believe they need them- previous knowledge or a prison-critical attitude are not necessary at all. On the contrary it is very important for me that different people come together to share their (un-)experiences, wishes, questions, fears, ideas- there will also be a facilitation present.
My brief experiences and opinions wouldn’t be sufficient for the workshop, especially because the discriminations people are affected by in this society are particularly grave in prison- for example concerning surviving prison as a trans or inter person, who is being confronted with prisons for ‚women‘ or ‚men‘ or people who are dis_abled by society and find even more barriers in prison.
There are also many more life experiences, which can influence surviving jail.

It’s important for me to say, that I am white, ablebodied and cis and I have an academic background which where there even greater privileges than elsewhere in society. In prison I was perceived as a ‚political‘ prisoner.

We will discuss a million different questions: Why do we need Jewish perspectives in our debates on intersectionality? Why are or would Jewish perspectives be an asset for our non-Jewish queer politics? Why is “Jewish” not the same as “religious”? Why is it a form of resistance to be a religious Jew? What does wc-germans mean? What was the “Schabbeskreis”? What is the history of Jewish-queer resistance in Germany? And what does all of this have to do with queer_feminism? Surely, it is quite a lot at once. But we will see how far we will get. To all Jews: I am looking forward to meeting you. Take all your thoughts and questions along!

Frede – Workshop: „Classism“
Cellos, Trash and Hardcore bands – what do these have to do with class(es)? These terms and what they (can) stand for, belong to classistic constructions of the queer_feminist scene(s) that I have got to know in the last few years. Bloggers have tried for many years to disclose classism in the queer_feminist online scene(s) and have published different texts and drawings. In this workshop I would like to talk to you about classism in queer_feminist scene(s), without getting into theoretical debates. I want us to draw pictures in connection with classism and find out how classistic experiences can be shown in different drawings.
The workshop will be open for affected people and supportive non-affected people. It should be a safe space for people who are affected by classism.
The workshop welcomes women*, inters*, lesbians*, trans*, genderqueers, genderfluids and no genders!
Drawing expertise is not at all necessary, only your motivation and interest are needed!
Frede is white, has a migration background, grew up in a poor, working class family, define as a (gender)queer and neither * nor trans*, wearing leopard socks with pleasure.

Nui: Safer/Braver Space for people with Jewish history (exclusivly for people with Jewish identity/history)
Braver Space for people, who identify as Jewish and/or grew up with Jewish parents/family. Roughly it’s about internalized oppression/antisemitism and yiddishkeit (or however you call that way being jewish), jewish culture/belief/history and ourselves as individuals acting as political activists in feminism and ‚antifa‘.
Possible topics: Are we outing ourselves? Are we hiding? How does our ‚being jewish‘ influence our political work and vice versa? How do we experience the trauma of Shoa and other antisemitic experiences ourself and in our political work? Where are the connections to other oppressions and privileges (race, physical abilities, gender identity and more)?
The space is not for people who don’t have an own jewish history and it’s suppose to be a Safer/Braver Space with the possibilities of reflection of diverse jewish perspectives.

After a long eventful day we want to let the evening fade away relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. We will use the cultural center and all the space we have for different skillsharings and activities. Everyone is welcome to contribute – you can write to us before or just organize it yourself! It can be anything from arts and crafts or knitting, to physical activities or tarot.
A part of our team will offer you a “cryptoparty” and share important know-how and practical tips with everyone who is interested in digital self-defense. You can bring your own laptops along or just join us and participate with your questions or ideas! Topics could be: Which smartphone messenger is the safest and why? How can I encrypt my e-mails? – but also: I have got a problem with my phone or laptop, what is going on? – or: What can you do with online haters?
We will adjust our content to the wishes and questions of those who participate and it can be anything according to the motto privacy.

Malaika Bunzenthal – Presentation: „A critical introduction to psychiatric hospitalization“
Content Warning: My presentation will focus on psychiatric hospitals, mental illness, ableism and violence in psychiatric settings
I will start this presentation by giving an overview of different forms of psychiatric hospitals and other forms of inpatient treatment of mentally ill people. I will talk about how inpatient treatment, but also coercive measures might look like.
In the second part of my presentation I will examine the system of psychiatric hospitalization from a critical lense. I will talk about the denial of agency of patients, shortcomings of the system, mistreatment and violence against patients of psychiatric hospitals.

C. Diplodocus- workshop: life drawing
Drawing people naked helps to look closely, to question and change visual habits and perception.
My workshop should provide the opportunity to experiment on drawing, modeling, or both in an as safe as possible room. „As safe as possible“ which means: We take time for preparation and follow-up. Everyone tries to be careful with each other. Bodies are not sexualized and / or evaluated. Anyone can leave the room or interrupt the workshop at any time. If you think of other things that contribute to everyone’s well-being, you can share them.
Paper and pencils are available, but you can also bring your own drawing material.
Experience is not required – it is all about trying out and learning from each other.
The workshop is open to everyone.

Alma & @redhidinghood – Lecture: „Transhostile Feminism? Contradiction and Reality“
The existing transhostile views in feminisms are as complex and varied as the different feminist movements themselves. Within certain feminisms voicing and deliberately advocating these transhostile views it is impossible to tie these convictions to a lack of knowledge or sensibility.
These views refer to the intentional exclusion of trans people, especially of trans femininities. These views are based on the lowest form of biologism, linking gender to the body. These views that have been criticized heavily under certain circumstances, are now suddenly used against trans people (now and again by reversing victims and offenders and presenting trans people as a closed and empowered group).
Examples can be found in the way of defending a gender binary model as a “biological fact” and giving reference to their own sex. Additionally we want to point out other contradictions of transhostile feminists seeking solidarity with antifeminists because their views on transhostility coincide (in similar way as close alliances can exist with racist convictions).
It is our goal to present an overview of this topic and to shed light on this specific form of transhostility within feminist movements. It is clearly not our intention to pass on our responsibility by giving this lecture. We will focus on small and specific groups of people. We want to call attention to certain attitudes and topics, and request a general feminist responsibility to consciously scrutinize the discrimination of trans people.
Therefore, we will use our knowledge and experiences to convey these convictions and to open our eyes to our own views and attitudes. Unfortunately we have to acknowledge that these kinds of cissexist mindsets can even be found within trans people themselves who are far from any form of intentional transhostility.

Dildos, strap-ons, butt plugs – sextoys can be used to experiment in sexual encounters and to detach genitalia from their normative assignments. But do sextoys belong to norms for queer sex and are there any norms for queer sex? And how can we be empowered? Who has got access to sextoys and can bodies make genderqueer sex even queerer? And what does good sex mean for us if it is not about reaching an orgasm?
In our workshop we want to talk about sex, norms and possibilities to make genderqueer sex even queerer. We want to find out the relevance of normative conceptions of sex in genderqueer sexual encounters, disclose (cis-)(hetero)normative behavior and discuss ways to dismantle it. Together we want to renounce genital simplifications and try to find possibilities to see genitalia in a different way.
For more queerness in our beds!
This workshop is open for inters*, trans*, genderqueers, genderfluids, no genders and supportive cis-people**!

The workshop has an antizionist Jewish perspective and will not be the space for non-Jewish “Anti-Deutsche” to set their thematic accents. It also won’t be a space for non-jewish people to use Jewish state critics for anti-Israeli resentments to justify and propagate their anti-semitic ideology. It is about Jewish and thus oppressed perspectives. It remains complicated.

An introduction into multiplicity and Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as multiple personality) and everyday life as a multiple and what friends and community/ies can do, because awareness and understanding are important, especially in political/queerfeminist scenes so that everyone can participate and learn from each other. We are multiple ourselves and will try to talk and act in an empowered way about these experiences and ways of being that are often seen as sick and wrong.
This workshop can be heavy/upsetting/triggering – we will take care to be mindful about that and make it as little triggering as possible, so that as many people as possible can participate.

SchwarzRund – Presentation: “Fat Black perspectives on the gender localization of Femme”
In her workshop SchwarzRund will present different perspectives on the term Femme in queer contexts, elaborate on other Femme-centered localizations and discuss critical aspects of history and the present negotiations. The workshop should not be seen as a final conclusion but rather as a presentation of different search movements for non-binary identifications that do not exclusively refer to masculine perspectives.

SchwarzRund is a Black German Dominican who was only three years old when she came to Bremen and has been living in Berlin for the last 10 years. Since 2013 she has been publishing her work in her own blog schwarzrund.de and in several magazines. She dedicates her performance in texts, lectures and events to more-dimensional living realities within or outside of Communities. She got a Bachelor degree in Cultural Sciences and Gender Studies, completing her Master degree in Gender Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin. In 2015 she published her short story “QUASI”, followed by her afropolitan Berlin novel “BISKAYA” with her publisher zaglossus in 2016.

Lahya – Spoken Word Perfomance
Lahya (Stefanie-Lahya Aukongo) is a freelancing artist, author, poet, curator, multiplicator, photographer, activist, teamer for workshops and singer. Is this too much for one person? Surely not!
Lahya’s life consists of lovely and critical molecules that paint a picture of her reality. She lives in letters, forming words with all its t’s crossed and i’s dotted. Some of the most important topics she devotes herself to are decolonization, dreams, traumata, self(love), intersectionality, healing, privileges, identities and warm strawberry ice-cream. As an artist she describes the reality she lives in and the way she sees the world around her in her music, photography, poetry and hugs.
In 2009 Lahya published her autobiography “Kalungas Kind” (in English: “Kalungas child”). A selection of her poems and spoken word texts has been published as well. Since 2014 she takes an active part at the monthly spoken-words-events “One World Poetry Night” as a curator and moderator in Berlin.
Lahya’s program at the moment is called “Natango?” and means “Still?” in the language of the Owambo people. In her understanding the word “Natango” stands for a reminder and a plea. She considers it as a public appeal to not only listen to her poetry on stage but to feel it too.
Her positioning:
Lahya embraces her identity as a person of color, dis_abled by the society, neurodiverse, driven by inexhaustible emotions, queer, phat-is beautiful, a several-times-surviver, academic, artist and activist with German passport. She describes herself as a royal, Eastern, white and female socialized, polyamorous cis_Femme, from a middle class background with sufficient financial means, adequate amount of hair on the head and a big heart.
Lahya sees her own positioning as a basis of her deeds and feelings. She considers this to enable her work and art as a human right activist.

Lana Sirri – Presentation: „What is Islamic and what is feminist about Islamic feminism?“

How are Islamic feminisms defined and by whom? Which are the conflicts and what do all of them agree on?”
About Lana Sirri:
I completed my PhD studies at the Centre for transdisciplinary Gender Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin in 2016. Since August 2016 I am assistant professor of Gender and Religion at the Centre for Gender and Diversity at Maastricht University.
I am a member of the Centre of Intersectional Justice, the Black & PoC Academics Network and the Berlin Muslim feminist group.

This workshop is open to all of you who want to repair their bike or learn the basics how to do it on your own. The required tools will be available and in place for everyone, some spare parts as well, and we will try to fix smaller and bigger problems on your bikes together. Additionally, we can practice how to tackle your next bicycle breakdown and prepare ourselves for future troubles. In the best case you will never have to leave your bike in the garage hoping for better times ever again.

International Women Space – Reading: „IN OUR OWN WORDS“
Reading in English, translation into German possible
In 2013 we, the activists from International Women Space (IWS), set ourselves the task of documenting the lives and stories of refugee women in Germany. We approached the project in the Latin American tradition of testimonial literature – looking to amplify the voice of the voiceless. Two years on, after many stories being exchanged and many women working collectively on this project, IWS published the book „IN OUR OWN WORDS – Refugee Women in Germany tell their stories“.
In June 2017 the second print was released. The book was conceived as a political action made by migrant and refugee women willing to speak to each other and document the lives of asylum-seeking women in Germany. In the process of distributing the book ourselves we met a diverse group of refugee women, and together we made it clear to a wide audience that no one can better describe the structure of our daily lives and struggles than us. For us to reprint the book means to continue articulating our inherent right to self-determination and actively participate in the current migration debate, which talks so much about us, but rarely with us.
After the presentation there will be place for questions.
About International Women Space
The International Women Space is a feminist political group of migrant and refugee women of colour in Germany. It was formed in 2012 within the occupation of the Gerhart-Hauptmann School in Berlin Kreuzberg. IWS challenges dominant knowledge structures and fights against discriminatory policies and practices, which oppose the emancipation of refugee and migrant women and all women.
