1. Location and journey

queerfeMS will take place at the cultural center “Baracke” at the Aasee.
The address is Scharnhorststraße 100, 48151 Münster.

You can find a description of how to get there by following this link:
https://barackemuenster.wordpress.com/wegbeschreibung/

The cultural center is well accessible by public transportation.

The following options are available via Münster’s central station, bus platform C1:
– Bus number 2, direction: “Alte Sternwarte”
– Bus number 10 direction: “Waldweg” or “Roxel Hallenbad” or “Meckmannweg”

The nearest bus stop to the “Baracke” is: “Platz der weißen Rose”. The bus ride will last about 15 minutes. In the evening you can take the night bus number 83 (N83) that will give you a ride back to the central station.

The bus stop is approx. 250 meters away from the cultural center. If you would like to be picked up from the bus stop, then write us an e-mail or call us (01575 5795510).

Furthermore, we will organize drivers who can pick you up directly from the central station in Münster. Unfortunately we can only offer you this exclusive transportation in exceptional cases. If it is not possible for you to use the public transportation than please contact us via e-mail or phone, at least the day before (and of course the sooner the better).

2) Rooms

The cultural center “Baracke” is accessible without stairs. There are three toilets for all genders. One toilet is accessible by wheelchair. Additionally, one of the toilets is equipped with a baby’s changing-table.

To be able to accommodate all our workshops during queerfeMS we will have to use additional rooms in the Institute of Political Science, in a building next to the cultural center. The rooms and toilets there are also accessible by wheelchair and the building has got an elevator.

3) Communication

Most of the workshops, lectures and readings will be held in German, a few will be in English. We will give our best to offer whispered translations from German into English and English into German. Until now we are also able to organize French, Russian and Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian translations. If you need a different language, please contact us!

4) Handling alcohol, smoking & co

We would like a considerate approach to alcohol consumption, smoking and other drugs. It is important to us that as few exclusions as possible are generated. Both uncritical consumption and the ban on drugs can be a barrier for different people. In this context, we have summed up some thoughts on sobriety, intoxicating culture, inclusions and exclusions:

Some thoughts on dealing with alcohol, smoking & co

5) Dogs at queerfeMS

Some persons are afraid of dogs. If you come together with one ore more dogs to queerfeMS, please be aware and responsible.

6) Safer Space and the so-called „A-Team“ (=Awareness-Team)

During queerfeMS we will offer most of the time a room for privacy with the possibility to retreat from the hectic environment for everyone who needs some peace and quiet. However, this space cannot be used as an overnight accommodation. If you need a place to sleep (spontaneously), we will try to organize something for you!

Furthermore, there will be an Awareness-Team, for more information: here

It is very important to us to enable full accessibility to everyone who wants to participate at queerfeMS. If we can do anything else to guarantee a weekend with less barriers, please let us know!
